Publication Multi-sport digital scoreboard system using microcontroller(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- Mid La Union Campus, 2025-05) Dimaandal, Vinze Lawrence G.; Cabalona, Ethan Luke C.; Dumo, Geryk B.; Ladia, Dave Erwin G.; Maala,Ian Vincent R.This study proposes the design and development of a Multi-Sport Digital Scoreboard System utilizing microcontroller-based technology to support and enhance sports activities. While digital scorekeeping systems have seen global advancement, many sports facilities in the Philippines continue to rely on manual and often inconsistent methods, particularly at the grassroots and university levels. To address these limitations, the proposed system integrates Arduino-based modules for automated score updates, ensuring greater accuracy, reliability, and real-time readability across various sports disciplines. The project responds to the growing demand for modernized, customizable solutions in sports event management, aiming to improve both player performance monitoring and the overall spectator experience. System evaluation focused on key technical parameters such as accuracy, clarity, and durability under repeated use. Conducted at the College of Engineering, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus during the academic year 2024–2025, the study involved the development and testing of a working prototype in real-world sports settings. Results demonstrated significant improvements in scorekeeping efficiency and highlighted the potential for practical integration of microcontroller technology in local sports infrastructure. Beyond its immediate functional benefits, the system also serves as an educational tool, offering students hands-on experience in the intersection of hardware and software development—underscoring its relevance in both technical innovation and academic enrichment.
