    Performance of two strains of broiler using different beans seeds as feed supplement

    This study aimed to determine which of the different bean seeds would give the best performance of broilers. It was conducted at San Joaquin Norte, Agoo, La Union from October 25 to December 8, 2001. The study used the one- way experiment In Completely Randomize Design (CRD) using two strains with four treatments and three replications. The two strains were separately used and studied. The different treatments for both Cobb vantress and Magnolia were To = pure commercial feeds; T1 = 20% soybean mea) and 80% commercial feeds; T2 = 20 % blackbean and 80% commercial feeds; T3 = 20% mungbean and 80% commercial feeds. The result of the study revealed the following: On weight gained by the Cobb vantress broiler, T1 and T3 produced significantly heavier chickens than the other treatments used. The heaviest weight registered after 36 days of rearing was 1.58 kg. On weight gained by Magnolia broiler, T1 produced the significantly heaviest among the treatments used. The heaviest weight registered after 36 days of rearing was 1.38 kg. On the feed consumption of Cobb vantress broiler, the significantly highest feed consumed was from T1 and T3 of 2.375 kg. Magnolia broilers from T1 had the highest feed consumption of 2.37 kg. The significantly higher feed ,conversionĀ· efficiency of Cobb vantress broiler was from T1 and T3 with 66.055%. For Magnolia broilers, those from T1 were the better feed converter of 58.23%. Broilers from T0, T2 and T3 had comparable feed conversion efficiency 45.4%.
