    Growth and survival of outplanted grafted Giant Duhat (Syzygium cumini (linn.). skeels) with organic and inorganic fertilizers

    The study was conducted to determine which of the organic and inorganic fertilizers could give the best growth and survival of outplanted grafted giant duhat at the old goat ranch of the DMMMSU, NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from June, 17 to December 17, 2010. A total of 150 grafted giant duhat a seedling were used and was laid out using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) replicated three times. The treatments were the following: T0 - Control (no fertilizer applied) T1 - Urea (45-0- 0) T2 - Bio-n T3 - Mycogroe T4 - Mycovam The results of the study showed no significant differences among treatments used in terms of monthly height and monthly diameter increment, final height and final diameter, additional number of branches and leaves and total number of branches and leaves. It was also found out that there is one hundred percent survival of the seedlings at the termination of the study. Based on the results of the study, any of the fertilizers used is recommended for the growth and survival of outplanted grafted duhat seedlings.
