Microcontroller-based white grub detection in Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa)
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus, 2021-07) Hipol, Mary Jane M.; Polido, Genevieve C.; Malicdem, Alvin R.; Ledda, Mark Kristian C.; Lamadrid, Bernardo D.
The main objective of the study was to design and develop a microcontroller-based on the extent of white grub's detection. Descriptive-developmental research design was used to determine the desired features integrated in the system. Findings of the study revealed that a high acceptability when used and adopted was found out as a proactive tool in the detection and control of white grubs. The developed device was evaluated in terms of accuracy and response time. Between comparisons, result shows that sensor 1 has the highest mean followed by sensor 2 then sensor 3. Hence, sensor 1 which is the vibration sensor revealed to have the highest rate over the two other sensors. Further, the said device enhances and heightens calamansi production resulting to excellent and quality production for calamansi growers. An area of wide management of white grub must be encouraged to sustain the existing and economical growth of calamansi in Tagudin or even the entire Philippines. Other new method of controlling or detecting insects, pests and diseases may be done. Keywords: Microcontroller-Based; White Grubs; Citrofortunella microcarpa.
