    Intra-office communication system of commission on population Region 1

    This study developed an Intra-Office Communication System of POPCOM Region 1. Specifically, it aimed to determine the ICT profile of POPCOM in terms of its hardware, software, manpower, and network; assess the capabilities and constraints of the existing communication system of POPCOM along performance, information, economics, control, efficiency, and service; develop an intra-office communication system for the Commission on Population Region 1; and determine the usability of the developed system. This study used descriptive and developmental research design and Rapid Application Development in developing the system. Survey checklist was used to determine the ICT profile of POPCOM Region 1 and survey questionnaire was used to assess the capabilities and constraints of POPCOM Region 1 and to determine the usability of the developed system. All data gathered was quantified and analyzed with the use of frequency count and mean. The findings of the study revealed that the ICT profile of POPCOM Region 1 was sufficient in terms of hardware, software, manpower, and network. The existing communication system is constraints. Intra-Office Communication System runs in a Windows platform and was developed with PHPHypertext Preprocessor, HTML, CSS, JAVA script, AJAX and Mysql as the database. The system is usable as to the usability of the system. The conclusions were: The developed system will be functional with the presence of the ICT Profile of POPCOM Region 1 but will hinders its operation if these ICT resources will be damaged or impaired due to lack of manpower which is a computer technician who has the knowledge in troubleshooting this ICT resources; Having constraints in the existing system of POPCOM Region 1 will hinder the functions, roles and goals of the organization in achieving them; The IOCS-POPCOM Region 1 is suitable using RAD. This turns out that this methodology can be effectively use to complete the IOCS-POPCOM Region 1 and should operate efficiently also to other similar network-based system; The IOCSPOPCOM Region 1 is usable. Therefore, the developed communication system will helped to improve the processes and services of POPCOM Region 1
