Effect of bilingual modules on the performance of senior high school students in basic calculus
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2019-07) Garnace, Jake B.
This study aimed to determine the effect of Bilingual Modules on the performance of senior high school students in Basic Calculus. It employed the design and development research and true experimental research design. The developed Bilingual Modules in Basic Calculus covered the learning competencies on differentiating algebraic, exponential, and trigonometric functions, and higher order derivatives. Two matched groups of Grade 11 learners were the respondents in the experimentation phase of the study. The control group utilized the modules in Basic Calculus written in English while the experimental group used the Bilingual Modules. Results of the experts’ evaluation revealed that the modules obtained a passing score along Content, Format, Presentation and Organization, and Accuracy and Up-to-Datedness of Information. Although the experimental group posted a higher mean score in the posttest as compared to the control group, further statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the levels of their performance.
