Financial competency of the working students in DMMMSU-Open University System

This research study determined the level of financial competency of BSBS working students in terms of financial knowledge, financial attitudes, and financial behavior in the Open University System. It specifically investigated the profile of the working students along with the age, gender, year level, status of employment, number of employment years, and number of financial-related trainings and seminars attended. It also determined the significant differences in the level of financial competency when grouped according to their profiles. A quantitative-comparative research design was employed with 50 working students as respondents. A researcher-made survey questionnaire subjected to validity and reliability testing was used to gather data. The study concluded that the working students demonstrate strong skills and knowledge in managing their finances effectively. The working students financial skills and knowledge tent to improve as they progress through their studies. The designed training program can significantly enhance the financial competency of the working students.
