Publication Growth and yield of winged beans (Psophocarpus tetraganolobus L.) as influenced by trellis heights and organic fertilizers planted between kakawate hedgerows(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2023-05) Estol, Martina U.Winged Bean planted in kakawate hedgerows is for commercial cultivation to enhance diversity in field condition and improve soil health. When it reaches the plate of hungry people, it leads to improvement in human health and consequently helps in solving the malnutrition problems. The study was conducted at the Agroforestry Research and Demonstration Farm (ARDF), College of Agroforestry and Forestry (CAFF) of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Bacnotan La Union from December 8,2022 to Mach 10, 2023. The study was laid-out following the Split Plot Design with 3 blocks and 4 treatments. The treatments used were: Main plot (trellis height 3,4, and 5 feet) and the sublot was organic fertilizers such as T0 (Control no organic fertilizers), T1 (Bio-n), T2 (Goat manure), and T3 (Cattle manure). On the effects of trellis heights, the highest weight of winged bean was the T1- 3ft with a mean of 185.83 kg (per ha). Followed by T2- 4ft with a mean of 182.91 kg (per ha) and T3-5ft with a mean of 168.75 kg (per ha). On the computed yield per plot (g), T2- 4ft was the highest computed yield per plot with a mean of 44.37, followed by T1- 3ft with a mean of 35.00 gram. The results showed that on effects of trellis heights and organic fertilizers did not significantly influence the days to emergence, days to flowering, the highest days to fruiting, days to first harvesting, total weight of marketable and non-marketable fruits and percentage survival. On the other hand, computed yield per plot and per hectare revealed significant difference.
