    Bauang police station crime record system

    This study delved on Computer Based Bauang Police Station Crime Record System. Specifically, it answered the questions what are the procedures in recording of crimes in Bauang Police Station; based from the findings, what computer based crime record system could be developed and lastly what is the level of usability of the computer based crime record system in terms of efficiency, affect, helpfulness, controllability and learnability. This study had made use of descriptive and developmental type of research and Rapid Application Development Model in developing the system. The researchers conducted an interview to determine the procedures in recording of crime in Bauang Police Station and administered survey questionnaire based on Software Usability Measurement Inventory (SUMI) to determine the level of usability of the developed system. To quantify the result, the researchers made use of weighted mean and grand mean. Verdicts of the study revealed that the procedures in recording committed crimes in Bauang consist of three key stages: reporting the crime; recording the crime; and keeping the record of the crime. Using the gathered results, the researchers developed the Bauang Police Station Crime Record System that runs on windows platform and was developed using Visual Basic 8 and MySql as the backend. The system is highly usable in terms of efficiency, affect, controllability, helpfulness and learnability as rated by the four respondents. Conclusions were; crime recording procedures in Bauang Police Station undergone a certain process which manually recording them could be time consuming. The usability of the computer based crime record system was very strongly agreed by the evaluators and therefore, model used in developing the system is a good way to develop software to automate business processes. Based from the findings and conclusions, researchers recommendation were; the College of Information Technology should establish a Research Unit monitoring the future researchers as to what kind of system should be developed. Researcher should continue to use effective tools in gathering data and methodological processes in developing system. The Computer Based Crime Record System should be implemented and be use by the Bauang Police Station for easier access of records and Future researchers
