Competencies of school heads in Pangasinan II: basis for a sustainability program
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2019-05) Enriquez, Jinky T.
Assessment and evaluation of school heads' competence should be monitored to ensure the delivery of quality education. This study aimed to determine the level of competency of school heads in the domains and strands set in the National Competency Based Standards for School Heads (NCBSSH). Respondents were 16 school heads, 75 teachers and parents of secondary schools from the 4" Congressional District of Pangasinan, Deped Division of Pangasinan II. A questionnaire on level of competencies based on the National Competency-Based Standards for School Heads (NCBSSH) was the main tool in gathering data. Results of the study revealed that the school heads were very satisfactory in their level of competency. They were outstanding in creating a student - centered learning climate and professional attributes and interpersonal effectiveness. Some of the respondents’ profiles were significantly correlated to their level of competency. Thus, a sustainability program was proposed and validated.
