Publication Growth and yield of kidney beans(Paseolus vulgaris L.) planted in alleys kakawate hedgerows as influenced by planting distance and organic fertilizers(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2023-06) Enem, Aprilyn T.The purpose of this research is to determine the growth and yield of kidney beans planted in alleys of kakawate hedgerows as influenced by planting distance and organic fertilizers. The research was conducted at the plantation of Kakawate Hedgerows Agroforestry Research and Demo Farm of the College of Agroforestry and Forestry, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from January 03, 2023 to March 10, 2023. The planting distance used in the study was 25cmx25cm (S1), 30cmx30cm (S2), and 35cmx35cm (S3), while organic fertilizers used was Cattle manure (T1), Goat Manure (T2), and Chicken Manure (T3) with No Fertilizer/control (T0). The results showed that the different Planting distance and organic fertilizers showed no significant difference relative to days to emergence, days to flowering, days to fruiting, weight of marketable pods as affected by planting distance and organic fertilizers, weight of Non marketable pods, computed yield per plot and per hectare, gross income, and net income. However, significant difference was observed in the weight of marketable pods of Kidney Beans as affected by interaction of treatments. Thus, the Pearson’s correlation of minimum temperature and average relative humidity with planting distance, organic fertilizers and interaction of treatment showed weak negative correlation to strong positive correlation and not found to be statistically significant.
