    Growth and yield of Pole Bean varieties (Vigna sesquepedales linn.) intercropped with Rambutan
    (Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2012-03) Dugkem, Rhea C.
    The study was conducted to determine the variety of pole bean with the most favorable growth, yield and highest income when intercropped withrambutan trees at the Rambutan Project, Agroforestry Research and Demonstration Farm (ARDF), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union, from October 4 to December 19, 2011. The study revealed significant results on the number of seeds germinated per plot however, no significant result was observed on the total number of pods produced, number of marketable pods, total weight (g) of pods per plot and computed weight (kg) per hectare, weight (g) of marketable pods per plot and computed weight (kg) per hectare, and fresh and dry biomass yield (g) per plot. Based on the results of the study, all the pole bean varieties can be intercropped with rambutan, but the Tristar variety is recommended as it obtained the highest number of seeds germinated, yield and net income.
