(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State Univeristy - Mid La Union Campus, 2015-10) Dao-Ines, Aprilyn C.; Catbagan, Jessalyn B.; Laigo, Florence Mae G.; Natividad, Laigo Andy N.; Trillana, Santanina Susana S.; Javonitalla, Josephine G.
Resorts contribute immensely to Philippine tourism industry performance; hence, the researchers conducted this study about Coconut Grove Beach Resort with the intention to propose an action plan. The information affecting resort operations were elicited from various national government agencies, their corresponding websites, and local government unit departments, while information about the resort were elicited from the general manager and staff, relevant documents, and their website. The SWOT analysis revealed that the resort’s major strengths are its outstanding food and beverage options and high participation in tourism events, while its major weaknesses include the below mandatory standards for parking area and absence of an external audit. Thus the resort should focus on product expansion on food and beverage, participation in trainings and seminars, widening of the parking area, and engagement of the service of an external auditor to improve the resort operations amidst the increasing number of direct competitors and diversified operation of tourism-related establishments in the area.
