Effectiveness of training and development programs in manufacturing companies in La Union

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of training programs in manufacturing companies in La Union. It seeks to identify how the implementation of training of programs affects the level of performance of employees in a manufacturing company. A questionnaire was created containing basic questions about employee’s knowledge, skills and attitude before and after the implementation of different training programs. Atotalof199manufacturingemployeesfrom Holcim Philippines, Inc. La Union Plant, Union Galva Steel Corporation, La Union and Ilocano Lumber were surveyed and were analyzed using Frequency counts, median and Wilcoxon Signed-rank Test. It was determined that there is a significant difference between the level of performance before and after the implementation of training programs. The findings revealed that most of the employees in manufacturing companies improved after the implementation of training and development programs as to their level of performance as to Skills, Knowledge and Attitude.
