Environmental effects of sanitary landfill in Bangar, La Union

Sanitary landfills are sites where waste are isolated from the environment until it is safe. It is considered when it has completely degraded biologically, chemically and physically. In this study, the environmental effects of sanitary landfill are the focus of this study. Descriptive method of research was used in the conduct of the study. A set of questionnaire was also used to know the effects of sanitary landfill site to 84 respondents selected purposively. Results revealed that the sanitary landfill does have very low effect to the community of Bangar, La Union. An action plan was proposed to aid implementers in the improvement of the operation of the sanitary landfill.
