    IOT-based adjustable smart circuit breaker
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus, 2026-03) Oclarit, Meljenio U.; Baysa, Gerovy C.; Costales, Deo Jim D.; Navarro, John Rafael C.; Ragasa, Daniel Dane A.
In the Philippines, the increasing occurrence of electrical hazards such as overloaded outlets, faulty wiring, short circuits, and unsafe appliance usage has contributed to rising cases of residential fire incidents and inefficient energy consumption, highlighting the need for a more adaptive and intelligent electrical protection system; in response to this problem, this study focused on the design, development, and evaluation of an IoT-Based Adjustable Smart Circuit Breaker intended to improve electrical protection, real-time monitoring, and user control for household appliances and motor-driven loads. The developed system integrated an ESP32 microcontroller, ACS724 Hall-effect current sensor, solid-state relay (SSR), buck converter, indicator lights, and a local web-based monitoring interface housed in a 3D-printed enclosure. The device was designed to provide adjustable trip threshold settings, accurate current monitoring, rapid overload response, and both Wi-Fi and local accessibility.
