    Attitudes towards Bio-N fertilizer usage in DMMMSU-NLUC

    The study aimed to determine (1) the demographic profile of Bio-N fertilizer Users, (2) the level of awareness and attitude towards Bio-N fertilizer, and (3) the problem encountered by farmers in using Bio-N fertilizers. The data and information used in the study were generated through the use of interview and schedule questionnaires. The interview was conducted from December 2012 to February 2013. Findings of the study revealed that the respondents Bio-N fertilizer respondents at DMMMSU NLUC belongs age bracket 51-60. Most of the respondents were male and married, and with about 1-3 members of the family. Some were college graduate and completed short term courses. Most of the respondents who used Bio-N fertilizer have an annual income of from 1,000-60,000. Out of 28 respondents 13 have other source of income which is farming and have been farming for 5 years. Majority of the respondents have weighted mean of 3.07 farm size, and most of them are the owner of the farm. Half of the respondents have upland irrigated type of farm and the other half were using loamy soil. All of the respondents were aware of Bio-N fertilizer the factors affect of non adoption of Bio-N fertilizer is there is no safety net instituted by the government in case farm fails, more than half of the respondents are still using Bio-N fertilizer, prefer to use Bio-N fertilizer than commercial fertilizer.
