Fermented corn cob meal for broiler
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, 2012-03) Chung, Bryan Rey A.
Due to the high cost of feeds today, researchers are finding ways on how to use possible feed supplements that may contribute to the viability of their use as bioenergy feedstock for broiler rations such as corn cob meal. This study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers as affected by varying levels (5%, 10% and 15%) of fermented corn cob meal in the ration. It was conducted from January 6 to February 10, 2012 at Casiaman, Bacnotan, La Union. A total of sixty broiler chicks were distributed at random into four treatments employing the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks. Results of the study showed insignificant differences in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio and mean profit above feed, medicine and stock cost of birds fed with experimental and control diets.
