The study aimed to determine the environmental and socio-economic effects of tiger grass industry in Santol, La Union. Specifically, it sought to determine the socio-economic profile of respondents, the extent of environmental and socio-economic effects of the industry, the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered by the respondents, and the benefit cost analysis of the industry in Santol, La Union. The data were gathered through the aid of structured questionnaire, supplemented by interviews and personal observations from hundred fifty three (153) farmers who served as respondents that were selected through total enumeration. Secondary data was gathered as basis for the computation of the Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of the industry. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, means and percentages were used. The respondents were dominated by male elementary undergraduates but with expenditures surpassed by their incomes. The tiger grass industry highly contributes to the improvement of the environment and the socio-economic status of tiger grass farmers in the municipality.
