    Electronic record holdings information system of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1

    The study is entitled Electronic Record Holdings Information System of the DSWDFO1. The study achieved the following objectives: (1) determined the ICT Profile of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 in terms of Hardware, Software, Peopleware, and Network; (2) assessed the capabilities and constraints of the existing record holdings system of the DSWD-FO1 along with the different criteria such as performance, information, economy, control, efficiency, and service; (3) developed the ERHIS-DSWDFO1 with the use of Rapid Application Development model; (4) and assessed the level of usability of the developed system along efficiency, affect, helpfulness, control, and learnability. The descriptive and developmental methods of research were used in the development of the study together with the survey questionnaire and survey checklist as the main tools in gathering the data. The study was conducted at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 with eleven (11) respondents involved selected through total enumeration. Gathered data were treated and analyzed with the use of frequency count, and mean. The respondents generally perceived that the following ICT resources in terms of hardware, software, peopleware and network are present in their office The respondents generally perceived that the existing system was a constraint in terms of performance, information, economics, control, efficiency, and services (PIECES) due to their way of keeping and managing records. The respondents generally perceived that the system is generally Usable. The conclusions drawn are the following: the profile of the ICT resources of The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 is viable for the implementation of the developed electronic record holdings information system; the existing system of DSWD FO1 was identified and analyzed; however, the current operation is not well enough for them to manage their day to day operation on record management; the Rapid Application Development model (RAD) with the use of Visual Studio and MySql as the database platform is an effective way to manage information system that could accommodate large amount of records; the developed system was usable; therefore, it is ready for implementation for faster operation and more efficient way of managing records.
