Technology utilization training program for public elementary school teachers in pangasinan II
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2014-03) Calachan, Rodel A.
This descriptive research determined the personal profile of 148 teachers, their extent of use of technology, and their level of knowledge in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point. The respondents generally claimed that they seldom used computers and this validated their claim that they had only basic knowledge in them. After a post-test was given after the training of 50 respondents, the respondents’ high scores showed that they gained complete and good knowledge in the three applications. The training composed of lectures, hands-on activities and brief tutorial on Windows using the above mentioned applications. Findings showed that majority of the respondents were female, aged 30-39, with 'MA units, had a length of service ranging from 1-10 years, and with an academic rank as classroom teachers. The utilization of educational technology was seldom used. The teacher-respondents possessed “basic knowledge” in basic computer applications. There was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the teacher-respondents in the level of knowledge in basic computer applications.
