Implementation of the mobile teacher program of alternative learning systems (ALS) in pangasinan II: basis for policy recommendation

This study looked into the implementation of Alternative Learning System in four municipalities in Pangasinan II. It used the descriptive research design with questionnaire as the main gathering tool, in addition to site visitation and interview. Average weighted mean and Pearson Product Moment of Correlation Coefficient through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0 were used to analyze the results of the study. Findings revealed that the learners are adult, mostly female, of low family income, with high school and elementary graduate parents. The teachers are young, mostly female, pursuing graduate studies, generalists, with high position and are experienced. The level of implementation of the ALS program is high. The learners have positive attitude and aspirations towards the Program. The problems of the mobile teachers were lack of modules and or review materials. ALS implementation is significantly related to the gender, highest educational attainment, specialization, and teaching experience of the mobile teachers.
