Devoloopment and evaluation of Koronitas ( Laniana Camara) Leaves as Dyestuff
(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus, 2024-06) Catbagan, Lenard Andrei A.; Basco, Cecilia H.; Caluza, Shamaine C.; Palabay, Kimberly G.; Perez, Jexie Mae C.; Ramos, Rexie Anne E.
The study aimed to develop and evaluate the amount of extraction from the Koronitas (Lantana Camara) leaves as dyestuff, to determine the color value of the dyestuff from the Koronitas (Lantana Camara) leaves, to evaluate the physical properties of the dyed fabric into fabric used (cotton fabric and linen fabric), and to determine the production cost. The study used the developmental-descriptive-evaluate research design. The statistical tool used was the weighted mean. A questionnaire was used to assess the colorfastness properties. A mobile application (color picker) determined the color value. Based on the findings, the color value of the dyed cotton fabric and linen fabric yielded a light color. The evaluation of the colorfastness to washing and colorfastness to sunlight was very good, and no significant difference existed in terms of mordant and boiling time except in colorfastness to sunlight in terms of boiling time.
