    Growth and yield of Baby Corn (Zea mays l.) intercropped with Rambutan as affected by organic fertilizers

    This study was conducted to determine the growth, yield and net income of baby corn intercropped with rambutan as affected by the application of organic fertilizers. It was conducted at the Rambutan Project of the Agroforestry Research and Demonstration Farm (ARDF), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union, From December 21, 2014 to March 1, 2015. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was the experimental designed used. The treatments were as follows: T0 – control (no fertilizer application), T1 –3.33 kg farm grow per plot, T2 –8.33 kg vermicompost per plot, T3 – 33.33 g Bio-N per plot, and T4 – 4 kg cattle manure per plot. Results of the study revealed that there were no significant differences among the treatments used in all the parameters taken such as percentage germination, plant height at maturity, number and length of corn ears, diameter and length of corn cobs, weight of corn ears per hill, weight of corn cobs per hill, per plot, computed weight per ha, corn cobs and corn husks ratio, and net income per plot and per ha.
