    Performance of Mungbean varieties under DMMMSU condition

    The study was conducted to determine which of the different mungbean varieties (Pag-asa 7, Pag-asa 21, PNRI Mg 2, BPI Mg 9, Mg 50 10 A /check variety) perform best in terms of growth and yield employing RCBD in four blocks. The study was conducted at the Agricultural Technology Farm of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University North La Union Campus, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from November 2015 to February 2016 Results revealed that Pag-asa 7 matured the earliest (55 days) and had significantly developed the longest pod in terms of the length of pods. PNRI Mg 2 was significantly the heaviest seeds produced in terms of bean yield. BPI Mg 9 had the heaviest 100 seeds per plot. Mg 50 10 A, check variety exhibited significantly the tallest plant in terms of plant height. However, no significant variations noted in terms of number of days to emergence, number of days to flowering, number of plants survived, number of pods per plant and on the seeds per pod.
