    A proposed intervention program for store owners in district IV Bauang, La Union

    This study use of the descriptive survey method questionnaire and documentary analysis served as the primary data gathering tool. This study focused on the profile of the respondents, the status of sari-sari stores and the problems encountered in managing the business. A total of 42 respondents were surveyed who were the small scale entrepreneurs in District IV in the Municipality of Bauang, La Union. The findings of this study revealed the following of which the respondents were female dominated. Age-wise most of the respondents with age group of 26-30 and they were more aggressive and matured enough to manage the business. Majority of the respondents were college and high school graduates and they were knowledgeable enough to manage. Most of the respondents have been in the business for 1-10 year as entrepreneurs with their product line focused on groceries which is one of the prime commodities needed in the community. In terms on the statues of the sari-sari stores, most of them have a capital ranges P1000- P10,000.00 and some of the respondents had reached P15,000.00 and above on capitalization. On monthly income 27 respondents had a monthly income below P5000,00 and some of them had reach P5,000.00 to P15,000.00 an income and the monthly expense had reached P2,000.00 to P5,000.00. Most of the entrepreneurs were seller-owner of the business and they have SSS and Phil Health as one of the requirements in establishing any business. On the problems encountered in managing the business along capitalization , money, manpower and marketing, all were moderately serious while problems encountered in process and entrepreneurial abilities were all serious problems thus will be strengthened and given emphasis in the intervention program. Thus, a proposed intervention program was anchored on the above findings.
