| dc.description.abstract | Calcium is essential for the formation and maintenance of the skeleton, hence the need to evaluate different calcium sources in broiler rations. This study aimed to determine the effect of different calcium sources (sea urchin shell meal, oyster shell and limestone) for broiler in formulated rations from January 07 to February 27, 2008 at the Poultry Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union. A total of 72 birds were distributed into three treatments using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) replicated three times. The result of the study revealed that birds fed with different sources of calcium showed comparable performance in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency, profit, and lean to bone ratio. On the other hand, birds given sea urchin shell meal resulted to significantly lower dressing percentage. | |
