Two hundred fifty farmers were selected as respondents of the study. Descriptive survey method research was employed through the aid of prepared questionnaires supported by personal interview and observation to gather data. Cronbach's Alpha, frequency counts, percentage, weighted mean and analysis of variance were the statistical tools used. Findings revealed that majority of the respondents were males belonged to age bracket of 46- 50 years of age, married and high school graduate. The respondents have an average income of Php5, 188 and expenditure of Php5, 308 monthly. Majority of the respondents had been living in the area since birth, lived in permanent houses, half owned their houses, lived in lowlands with a dominant number of 1-3 dependents and obtained drinking water from deep well. Most employed in farming are tenant and cultivated areas of about 10,001 square meters and above, used and owned Galvanize Iron sheet as their barn. Farmer respondents were moderately aware on the environmental and health effects of tobacco production while on the socio-economic effects were rated aware. Degree of seriousness on the problems encountered by the respondents has a grand mean of 3.33 with a descriptive equivalent of serious. There was a significant difference between barangays on their level of awareness on the environmental, health and socio-economic effects; degree of seriousness on problems met and between criteria on the seriousness of problems met in the tobacco production.en-USThesis
