Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1491The study was conducted form November to January 2006 at the Masalip River Irrigation System, Agoo, La Union to evaluate the performance and management status of MRIS considering the following parameters: equity, productivity and efficiency for the performance; and the four managerial functions: planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation, for the management status. Performance of MRIS was evaluated from calendar year 2001 to 2005, and the management status was determined with the aid of the three groups of respondents: NIA staff, IA officers, and IA members. The findings of the study include: (a) the performance of MRIS to be 77.52%, 87.74%, and 76.59% during wet season and 75.04%, 79.88%, and 80.61 % during dry season for the system’s equity, productivity, and efficiency; and (b) the management status of MRIS to be moderately high for (1) the level of awareness, compliance and support to IA’s policies, programs and projects, (2) the level of leadership skills and managerial capability of IA officers and members and NIA O & M personnel along water delivery and distribution, repair and maintenance of irrigation facilities, resolution of conflicts, and training of officers and members, (3) the degree of seriousness of problems encountered in the management of MRIS, and (4) the level of participation of IA members in decision – making.en-USPerformance and management of Masalip River Irrigation System (MRIS)Thesis
