The development of a Paper Recycling Machine addresses this challenge by converting discarded paper into reusable sheets. Existing small-scale recycling methods often produce uneven thickness, low whiteness, and inefficient drying. This study aimed to design, fabricate, and evaluate an improved Paper Recycling Machine for small-scale use. A developmental research design was employed, involving the systematic design, fabrication, and testing of the prototype. The system integrates pulping, sheet formation, pressing, forced-air drying, and calendering. Results showed that the machine produced recycled A4 paper with a mean whiteness score of 3.38, a grammage of 77–82 g/m² (mean = 79.6 g/m²), and a thickness variation with a mean CV of 10.38%. The machine achieved a production rate of 4.8 sheets per hour, demonstrating its capability to produce usable recycled paper for small-scale applications.enDevelopment of paper recycling machineThesis
