Centered on native chicken, this study was designed to assess the management system and support programs, and to analyze the demand and supply situation. Data gathered using questionnaire were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, ranking, weighted mean, regression, and profitability analysis. Results revealed that native chicken are cultured in the traditional way of brooding and hatching, in semi-confinement scheme, fed with home-mixed ratio, and raised for food consumption. These were bought directly by consumers depending on body confirmation. While DA-RFO1 has Native Chicken R & D support program, the raisers have limited accessibility. Native chicken raising generates about 46.85% ROI. There is a huge market shortage of native chicken by 2018 onwards. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen the production of native chicken in La Union, and to continue to provide financial, technical and marketing assistance to farmers.en-USCommodity profile of Native Chicken industry in selected Municipalities of La Union.Thesis
