Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/924The cost of commercial broiler feeds is constantly increasing resulting to lesser profit. Therefore, there is a need to explore the possibility of reducing the cost of commercial feed by using feed extender. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% young kakawate leaf meal as feed extender. Seventy-five, 14-day-old broiler chicks were used in the study from August 24, 2010 to September 28, 2010 at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union, using the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks. Results revealed that birds fed with 2% to 8% young kakawate leaf meal performed comparably with birds fed with pure broiler starter mash in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed conversion ratio and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.en-USYoung kakawate (Gliricidia sepium jacq.) leaf meal as feed extender for broilersThesis
