Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1302The high cost of commercial feeds is one of the major problems encountered by most of the swine raisers. Hence, the search for alternative source of feed such as trichantera leaves was done. This study was conducted to determine the performance of crossbred pigs fed Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum - fermented trichantera leaves from September 01, 2014 to November 01, 2014 at the Piggery Project of DMMMSU-NLUC, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union. A total of 15 pigs were distributed into three treatments, following the Completely Randomized Design (CRD), in five replicates. The result of the study showed that the performance of pigs fed with 85% commercial feeds + 15% LABS – fermented trichantera leaves and 70% commercial feeds + 30% LABS – fermented trichantera leaves were comparable to those fed with pure commercial feeds in terms of final weight, gain in weight, average daily gain, feed conversion ratio. The substitution of 15% and 30% LABS – fermented trichantera leaves comparably resulted to lower cost of feed to produce a kilogram gain in weight and higher profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.en-USLactic acid bacteria serum-fermented trichantera as feed substitute for crossbred pigsThesis
