Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union. Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1061One of the major constraints in corn production was the high cost of inputs, particularly the cost of chemical fertilizers. Thus, organic fertilizers are now being introduced to reduce the cost of production of most crops. Hence the study was conducted to determine the best rate of Vermicompost on the growth and yield of sweet corn. This study was conducted at Demo Farm of DMMMSU NLUC Bacnotan, La Union from December 7,2013 to February 22,2014 following RCBD in three blocks and four treatments. Result showed that corn plants applied wit 300 g of vermicompost is significantly comparable to corn plants applied with BSR (Control) in terms of diameter of cob corn ear with means of 5.67 and 5.59 cm respectively. Diameter of cob corn, fresh weight of cob corn ear /plant, fresh weight of cob corn per plant, fresh weight of cob corn ear (g/plot), fresh weight of cob corn ear (kg/ha) and biomass of corn plants. No significant variation was found on the number of days to tasselling, growth of corn plants, length of cob corn ear, length of cob corn and number of nodes per plant.en-USRates of Vermicompost application to sweet corn (Var. sweet pearl) under DMMMSU conditionThesis
