[Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - North La Union Campus, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union]. Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1549The study was conducted at Damortis, Santo Tomas, La Union from November 11, 2013 to February 15, 2014 to determine the effect of rain shelter on the growth and yield of several varieties of carrots. Two factors using RCBD were studied namely carrot varieties and rain shelter technology. The different carrot varieties used in the study were KS Kuroda, KS Terracotta, Kuroda, and F1 – Hybrid planted with rain shelter and in an open-field. Analysis of variance was used to determine whether there was a significant difference among the treatments. KS Kuroda variety obtained the longest tubers with a mean of 10.04 cm and highest yield with a mean of 9.04 ton/ha. KS Terracotta noticed the highest mean diameter of 3.29 cm. Carrot planted with rain shelter revealed a significant effect on number of leaves, plant length and number of shoots.en-USCarrot production in Rain shelter and open-field under La Union conditionThesis
