The results show that parents of the illegitimate children perceived that they are authoritative parental, illegitimate children perceived their parents with a neglectful parenting style. They are extroverts, with low conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness. They also have a severely low self-esteem, rarely satisfied in in terms of their life; lack in motivating oneself and managing their emotions. There is significant difference between the respondents and their parent's assessment on the authoritative parenting style. There is a direct significant correlation between the perceived neglectful parenting style of the respondents and personality (extroversion) of the respondents and a direct significant correlation between the perceived neglectful parenting style of the respondents and personality (emotional stability) of the respondents.
