A descriptive-quantitative methodology was employed to collect data using a checklist and survey questionnaire involving local athletes. The results indicate significant challenges, such as insufficient access to adequate training facilities, lack of government and institutional backing, and social stigma. Challenges and barriers related to motivation, attitudes, and behavior, such as insufficient motivation stemming from a lack of recognition and support, were also noted. Despite these obstacles, athletes show remarkable resilience and a strong sense of community. This research emphasizes the critical need for inclusive sports programs, greater funding, and awareness initiatives to aid in the advancement and well-being of Paralympic athletes in the area. The findings aim to guide policy suggestions and foster equal opportunities for all athletes, no matter their physical capabilities.enChallenges of paralympic athletes in Pangasinan: basis for an intervention programThesis
