Lakasa ti Sirib, DMMMSU Institutional Repository.https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1715This study was conducted to: (1) determine the occurrence of Brucella of goats in Ilocos Sur; (2) determine the goats affected with Brucella in Ilocos Sur considering age; and (3) determine the goats affected with Brucella in Ilocos Sur considering sex. This study was conducted in seventeen (17) randomly selected towns of Ilocos Sur on October to November 2004. One hundred thirty six (136) goats were used in the study with age and sex considered. Blood samples were aseptically collected via the jugular vein. The serum was separated from the blood and subjected to Rose Bengal Test. Results of the study revealed that 2.21% of the goats in Ilocos Sur reacted positively to Rose Bengal Test. Young and adult goats can be equally infected with Brucella. T-test revealed an insignificant difference on infection rate with male and female.en-USThesis
