The main objectives were to analyze the socio-demographic profile of residents, classify and assess LULC changes from 2018 to 2024 using Sentinel-2 imagery, evaluate public perceptions on LULCC causes and impacts, and produce LULCC and asset maps. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating GIS and remote sensing analysis with structured surveys and interviews. Findings revealed significant increase in built-up areas and decrease in croplands and forest cover attributed largely on population growth, weak law enforcement, and climate events. The perception of the respondents on the causes of LULC Change impacts the actual status of LULC Change happening in the area, showing a contradiction with the actual situation, implying a need to increase awareness through Information, Education, Communication (IEC). The various shifts of land changes negatively impact the water quality, soil fertility, biodiversity, and air quality. The study offers evidence-based insights essential for sustainable land management and policy development aligned with environmental conservation goals.en-USLand use land cover change of San Fabian, Pangasinan and its implications on natural resourcesThesis
