Rapid appraisal of corn enterprise in the municipality of Balaoan, La Union [Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union].https://lakasa.dmmmsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/1587This study was conducted to assess the rapid appraisal of the corn enterprise in terms of: (a)the socio-economic profile of corn enterprise in the municipality of Balaoan, La Union; (b) to determine the business practices and problems; ( c )production; (d) marketing; (e) human resource (f) finance;(g) the SWOT analysis of the corn enterprise; (h) recommended development program of the corn enterprise. There were 105 respondents; the data were analyze using different statistical tools like frequency, counts, means, percentage and descriptive rating. Majority of the respondents were male and married with a highest educational attainment of high school graduate. The respondents usually planted the yellow corn variety. Most of the business classification of the respondents were single/sole proprietorship. Corn farmers sorts their produce corn via size and sell them per kilo and paid in cash basis. Farmers and Youth/young entrepreneurs engage in corn production seminars, trainings and business ventures of farm techniques that is one to be recommended.enThesis
