Through genre analysis, indigenous conflict resolution can be examined in terms of its moves and strategies. This study analyzed the language used in the indigenous conflict resolution in Bucloc, Abra. The study used a descriptive embedded mixed-methods design to investigate the moves and the recurring patterns observed in the six corpora of indigenous conflict resolution of the Masadiit participants used in indigenous conflict resolution processes. A qualitative approach was used, and the results were quantified using quantitative ethnography and validated using Lawshe to provide a comprehensive understanding of the research problems. The study focused on the qualitative features necessary to provide an in-depth understanding of the moves and strategies participants used in indigenous conflict resolution. The Council of Elders and the Barangay Officials used seven generic moves and nine strategies to resolve conflicts in an indigenous manner, which were influenced by the case category, the situation within the conflict, customary laws and traditions, relationship-based justice, and membership in and non-membership in indigenous groups.enThesis
